Schedule Performance Index [PMI Technique] (SPI) is measure of schedule efficiency on a project. It is the ratio of Earned Value (EV) to Planned Value (PV).[1]

Formulas

SPI = {{EV \over PV}}

Schedule Performance Index equal to or greater than one (SPI >= 1) indicates a favorable condition and a value of less than one (SPI < 1) indicates an unfavorable condition.[2]
